After spending the morning with some friends, we hurried home for naps (we were out till 1:30pm New Years Eve) and then skyped with my family since they were all together in Minneapolis for their Christmas Celebration. Every year during Christmas my mom organizes a family game that we play all together and win money and prizes. She was determined to make the game skype-able this year. So this year, we played the Schmidt Family Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader game. It was fun and hilarious as usual (and a little bit embarrassing) and she even had questions for Owen to answer. I Love My Mom! She makes things so fun and special! Then we watched them open their gifts that we sent them. We hated being apart from them, but this was the next best thing. Thanks Skype!
After talking with my family, the 3 of us had a special Fundu night! I made yummy cheese and chocolate fondu that I bought from Switzerland. We sat on the floor and watched The Lion King while dipping bread and veggies in cheese and fruit and cookies in chocolate. It was a perfect way to start the New Year with my favorite people in the whole world!
